Soren hails from Bellingham, WA, and is completing his Bachelor's of Arts in Music at Cal Lutheran. With a musically interdisciplinary background ranging from theatrical accompaniment to organ performance, Soren's concert works blend traditional genres with contemporary styles to create accessible, innovative, and memorable music.
Graduating from Bellingham High School as a recipient of the National School Choral Award, Soren began his time at Cal Lutheran with the goal of furthering and developing his choral compositional technique. He continues to compose primarily for the choir, with various works performed both regionally and internationally.
Soren has accompanied congregations and communities throughout the West Coast with his unique style and love for the hymnody. Starting as a substitute at his home church, CTS Lutheran in Bellingham, WA, he furthered his experience before taking on a Student Leader position within the Office of Campus Ministry at California Lutheran University, serving as the chapel accompanist for the 2024-25 academic year. Soren is a substitute accompanist at congregations throughout southern California.
With a basis in musical theater and a firm foundation in piano improvisation, Soren's theatrical work is embodied in live accompaniment for musical theater, integration with comedic improv troupes, and frequent collaboration on original children's musicals in partnership with the Bellingham Arts Academy for Youth.
